M.A.D.  about Adaptations!                                                        3rd Grade

Pre-Trip Visit to Your Classroom:
Your program will begin in your classroom with fun activities that will get your students excited about birds! We will dress up a student in a bird costume as they learn how birds have special adaptations for survival. Then your students will play an engaging game called "bird beak buffet" where they need to compete for food on the mudflat!

Field Trip to Middle Harbor:
Your students will get a “bird’s-eye view” of the difficulties to surviving on the wild shoreline. Through fun interactive games and on-site bird discovery, students will understand that if we can’t change we can’t survive! Your students will come away being bird enthusiasts and excited to learn about birds in their own neighborhood.
